There appear to be many common variants of spam text message flying around the system. This is one that surfaced during the recent (2010) winter which saw treacherous roads and pavements give rise to increased hospital admissions.

This is one of many messages that are circulating as originally highlighted in my article Debt Settlement Order Spam Text Message. If you ever receive anything that remotely fits this template then delete it.

Vodafone – How do I report spam text messages? Forward the spam message to VSPAM (87726).
Orange – Stop spam text messages. If you are on Orange and get spam messages, please forward them to 7726 free from your Orange phone. By doing this you are helping Orange to collate information to help reduce spam messages being sent to you and others.
T-Mobile don’t appear to have any page for reporting, but there are a few suggestions on this post

£3750 text scam
I replied CLAIM back in order to find out who this was. Few days later (today) I received a phone call from a woman thanking me for replying to the text and wanting to take tsome more details from me. I pretended to be careful of being scammed and if she could confirm the company and website and it belongs to these guys:
Compensation Claims
They are a part of Paragon Ltd. and if you want their website, company name with .co.uk on the end.
I’ve reported them to the ICO and forwarded on all information I have and have even lodged a complaint with the company in question. I did receive a reply back pretending not to know anything and I’ve emailed back asking why the woman thanked me for the text and was ready to take more info from me. Yet to hear anything back.
They’re fishing for hopefuls. So many people on hard times chances are they’ll make a lot of cash on some cases where they can make some money back on a case or two.

Evidently STOP doesn’t work but I have received SO many of these messages before these two and am starting to feel like my privacy is being invaded. I got rid of my landline to get away from the incessant evening promo calls but now the texts are becoming just as incessant. If they aren’t careful, I’m gonna sue them for stress!!! Just some advice to those posting here:
The texts are spam and are illegal (I have reported them to the ICO and have their confirmation that they are illegal). They are sent from PAYG mobiles with unlimited text bundles, which are eventually disconnected by the network, so they simply get another PAYG SIM card and start again.
You’ll rarely get a text from the same number twice, so there’s no point in listing them. They are not targeted at your number, no-one has sold your number – they just send them to a massive list. It doesn’t matter if you reply or not (it won’t do any good to text STOP), the network will helpfully tell them if your number doesn’t exist by returning a non-delivery error.

I will not post all the numbers i have got the same text from as who cares about it! What i would like to know is whether anyone in this world is doing anything about it? how do these people benefit from sending these texts if people reply or do not reply… I also had a ramndom call from some chineese accent asking me for my information and after i said i was not interested in sales calls said it was not one but whether i could give him the details of my friends and family as well. What an idiot!
Also i would like to know how to stop them as looks like they are annoying far too many people.. how to catch them and punish them??? Anyone knows or we are just posting the collection of the numbers here…?

My husband actually was called NOT TEXTED regarding a said CLAIM. He just said nope never claimed for nothing and that was that.
